 Well we have started off another year of Cornhole!! Our weekly cornhole league has started at our local Moose lodge. If you are in the area on a Friday night from now until the end of March come on down and play with us! it is $5 per person, random draw for partners (so everyone gets a fair shot to win) we pay out all money and top 4 teams get something! (pot depends on how many teams we have obviously!)
We have a blast at the moose, and it is a smoke free environment now! Drink deals weekly ($1.50 beers!) and burgers and fries (I swear the best fries you have ever tasted!) for $4!!
We have also re-done our scoring system to give people a more fair shot at winning our overall club championship. Each tournament will have a scale for points based on how many teams we have total playing. So a tournament that has only 8 teams playing will not score you as many points for first place as a tournament with 16 teams. The formula we use is the number of teams, times a multiplier that depends on the tournament (for league play it is 2), times the rank of placing (based on how many teams we are placing for score- all regular tournaments are 6 places out- The State tournament is 10 places) and then plus 5 for league play (you get 5 points just for showing up at the league games!)
Does that give you a big enough headache? LOL it isn't as complicated as it sounds, for example Harry and Daniel are our first week winners, and we had 10 teams, so they got 125 points. 10 (teams) * 2 (the multiplier) * 6 (first place is *6 second would be *5 etc.) +5 =125
